What is an LPC-Associate?

An LPC-Associate is a provisionally licensed counselor in Texas working under supervision to complete 3,000 hours of supervised hours before applying for full licensure. I have been an LPC-Associate since 2021. You can find more information about my supervisor, Dustin Swann, here.

Do you work with young children?

I have been trained in play-based therapy approaches to help young children express themselves and develop age-appropriate coping skills. Children under 8 or older children with developmental delays are more indirect in their communication. At my in-person office in Rockwall, we have toys and other activities to help children or adolescents with developmental delays connect with me and express their emotions.

How much does counseling cost?

My online counseling sessions available for Texas residents are $100 per 50 minute session (45 minutes for adolescents under 16). I do not accept insurance at this time but I can provide a superbill for possible reimbursement from insurance. Cost for in-person sessions in Rockwall, TX will vary. Please contact me directly to discuss in-person rates.

What issues do you help with in counseling?

I work with individuals who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, parenting stress, grief, spiritual issues, and life transitions. I offer virtual therapy for adults and teens across Texas.

Do you provide Christian counseling?

Yes, I offer counseling that integrates faith when requested. I work with people from a variety of backgrounds, and I tailor each session to your values and needs.

What can I expect in the first session?

In the first session, you will get to know me and we will go over any questions you have about consent forms and other paperwork. We will go over your goals and relevant history to inform the treatment plan. We will come up with a plan to move forward in further sessions.

Is virtual counseling effective?

Research shows that virtual counseling can be just as effective as in-person counseling. For severe mental health disorders and suicidal ideation without support, in-person counseling is highly recommended. We will discuss the issues you are looking to work on with me before moving forward with the counseling process to ensure a good fit. If you are in need of in-person counseling services and do not live near Rockwall, TX, I can refer you to local services.

What is your cancellation policy?

I charge a $75 fee for appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice or appointments that are no showed.
